Hi Parents & Caregivers!
We see you working so hard to support
your children and help them become
their most authentic selves!
…While also driving another to practice, helping with homework, refereeing arguments, and figuring out how to get some sleep for yourself. I like to say parenting is a wild ride! Those rides can be fun, scary, new, challenging, and exciting.
My name is Carrie Gardner, LMHC-D and I am one of the therapists at RRC. You may have seen me singing Taylor Swift down the hallway or right now anxiously anticipating the start of college basketball. I also spend lots of time chasing down my twin 6 year olds who love to run and almost always run in opposite directions.
With the rising concerns our kids face today, we are all doing our very best to help them (and ourselves) navigate childhood. It can be hard to find places where you can let your protection brain rest and genuinely connect to other parents. I love learning about brain development and how that can help us find techniques and support that are effective at all ages. You all know your children the best and my goal working with families is to help identify what is going to work for this kiddo and family right now.
I am so excited to be doing a Parent/Caregiver Group at RRC! I am passionate about creating a safe, open, nonjudgemental and supportive space to help those raising these amazing kiddos. The parent group would be a combination of support and skills as needed based on current needs.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions: cgardner@resilientrochester.com
I am so honored to be part of your wild ride!
